Thomas Frane

Thomas P. Frane, 68, of Sheboygan, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2015 at his home. Tom was born on July 13, 1946 in Colby to the late Virgil and Pearl (DuVall) Frane. He spent his early life and received his education in Milwaukee. Tom graduated from Boys Tech High School. Following high school he proudly joined the US Marines, serving during Vietnam. On August 6, 1974 he was united in marriage to Diane Rowe in Sheboygan. Tom worked in the logging industry in partnership with his brother Dan. Following this endeavor Tom and Diane purchased and ran the Rowe homestead, raising dairy cows and managing the land. During this time he was instrumental in spreading the Gospel of Jesus through the Lowell Lundstrom Ministries by coordinating crusades in the mid-west. After having a very successful dairy business he went on to become an owner operator over the road truck driver until his retirement. After retiring Tom joined the VFW Post 9156 and was in charge of coordinating the military honors. Tom enjoyed collecting antiques and 50's and 60's memorabilia. He was a talented self-taught musician playing several instruments included the guitar, violin, harmonica, and accordion. Tom was a welder and had a creative mind for inventing and engineering. He enjoyed trains and creating model layouts. Being known as a joke teller, he liked to make people laugh and will always be remembered for his unique personality and the ability to make people feel special. Tom was a great mentor to various family members and friends. He had a generous heart and was always willing to help anyone who needed him, including taking in refugees during the Bosnia and Herzegovina War. Tom was a born again Christian who had a passion for bringing people to Christ. Tom was a devoted husband to Diane for 41 years, a loving father to; Steven (Michele) Frane, Tina Dannenberg, Julie (Jeff) Schultz, Wendy (Chad) Yentz, and Angela (Matt) Stephens, grandfather to; Jocelyn, Katlynn and Zachary Frane, Trenton and Travon Dannenberg, Jorden and Justice Schultz, Elly and Gina Yentz, and Harrison and Jackson Stephens, and great-grandfather to Lillie Higgins (Frane). He is further survived by his siblings; Michael (Deborah) Frane, Daniel (Pat) Frane, Louie Frane, Kathy Frane, Colleen (James) Tucker, Kristine (Bob) Strauss, Teresa (Tony) Hahn, Mary (Al) Reinemann, Robert (Francie) Frane, Joe (Joanne) Frane, and Lisa Frane, and by brother-in-law Milton (Kathy) Rowe. Also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Jeffrey Frane and his in-laws Milton and Lillian Rowe. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Christian Life Assembly of God church 933 Krumrey St. Plymouth, with Pastor Richard York officiating. Burial will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery with Military Honors. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM at the CHURCH. Memorials will be divided between Tom's favorite charities.
