Alan John "AJ" Goetsch II, 35, lost his battle with Autoimmune Encephalitis on September 2, 2016 with his family by his side.
AJ began life on July 10, 1981 as the youngest of four children to Alan and Debbie (Zahn) Goetsch. AJ attended Jefferson Elementary, Horace Mann Middle School and Sheboygan North High School graduating in 1999. Upon graduation, AJ worked at Torke Coffee in Sheboygan as a service technician for many years until venturing out on his own. In 2012, AJ purchased, remodeled and opened Route 32 convenience center in Krakow, WI which was his pride and joy, in large part because his dad worked alongside him during the entire remodel.
In all the communities that AJ lived, he became a member of the volunteer fire department. AJ was a volunteer firefighter/paramedic with the Town of Sheboygan, Town of Buchanan and most recently the NEW Rescue in Pulaski.
In his 35 years, AJ proved that life was meant to be lived to the fullest. Although working hard each and every day for everything he owned and accomplished, AJ also made sure to make the most of each day. If AJ was around, any event was destined to become a great time and never have a dull moment! Many of mornings by many were probably started with the phrase "AJ happened!" Many friends and family have also been the recipients of hilarious Snapchats of AJ singing and dancing with his black lab, Bailey.
AJ loved all things outdoors; fishing, four-wheeling and especially deer hunting. After purchasing his land in Green Valley, gun deer season was never the same in that area with AJ and his dad in the woods as well as the local establishments.
AJ is mourned as a son, a brother, an uncle, a friend, a business owner and boss, a goofball, a volunteer firefighter/paramedic, a guy who was always there to help a friend or stranger, as someone that always made us laugh and have a good time and as a good man that made an impact on every person he came into contact with.
AJ leaves behind his parents, Al & Debbie Goetsch, brother Ken Goetsch and sister Jenny (Rich) Lawrence, paternal grandparents, Jack and Betty Goetsch. He is further survived by niece and nephews, Amanda and Brennan Lawrence and Hunter Goetsch. AJ also leaves behind his faithful sidekick and companion, Bailey, as well as many other family members and friends. Friends that will especially miss AJ are Josh, Ken, Matt, Brett, Mickey and Adam...just to name a few. AJ is preceded in death by an infant sister, Tina Lee, maternal grandparents, Oscar and Betty Zahn. Please visit, www.ballhornchapels.com to view the tribute wall and leave condolences.
A celebration of AJ's life will be held at Quarryview Center, 3401 Calumet Drive, Sheboygan on Saturday, September 17, from 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM.
The family would like to thank the staff at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for their care and support, as well as Tayler and all the employees at Route 32.
