Albert Sommerfeldt

Albert Sommerfeldt age 78, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2015 at Golden Living Center, through Sharon S. Richardson Hospice. He was born on November 10, 1936 to parents Albert and Rilly (Woldt) Sommerfeldt in Red Bud, IL. Albert graduated from Red Bud High School in 1954. He proudly served in the US Army from 1958-1961. Albert worked at Vollrath Company for 40 years. Albert is survived by his wife Gail Vollrath; three children, Michael, Bonnie Seefeldt and Kelly Sommerfeldt; one grandson, Nathan Seefeldt; four step-children, Michael, Kevin, Melody and Darcy; five step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild. Also survived by other relatives and friends. Albert was preceded in death by his parents, former spouse Diane Jurk; and twin grandsons, Gregory and Timothy Seefeldt. A time of gathering and support will be held at Ballhorn Chapels Funeral and Cremation Care Center, 1201 N. 8th St., on Tuesday, July 14 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM. Memorial Service at 4:00 PM with Marianne Brandt presiding. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name are appreciated. The family would like to thank the Hospice staff for their care and support.
