February 10, 1925 — April 18, 2017

Alfred H. Stache, went home to his Lord, Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Meadowview Manor in Sheboygan. He was 92 years old.
Alfred was born February 10, 1925 in Rantoul, WI, the son of Herman and Norma (nee Popp) Stache. From 1943-1946, he proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Corp in Germany. On June 15, 1946 he was united in marriage to Verna Mattern at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. For many years, they made their home on Mill Road and prior to that, on Calumet Drive in Sheboygan.
In later years, Al and Verna began to realize their need for a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and gave their lives to Him. They were baptized on August 12, 2001 by Rev. Steve Petrie at Bethel Baptist Church, where they remained faithful members.
For 40 years, Al worked at Verifine Dairy, retiring in April of 1987.
Al enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as gardening. Over the years, Verna and Al were blessed with many wonderful friends and these friendships were very important to them both. Verna preceded Al in death in 2007.
Al is survived by his four children: Bonnee (Roger) Bellin of Sheboygan, Jayne (Terry) Ryan of Santa Barbara, CA, James Stache of Sheboygan Falls and Barbara (Richard) Lorenz of Sheboygan; eight grandchildren: Andy Ryan, Alyssa Stache, Seneca Ryan, Diana (Darden) Blow, Patrick Ryan, Joshua (Jessica) Bellin, Nicolas Lorenz and Adam (fiancée Jordann) Lorenz; 3 great-grandchildren: Jimmy, Isla and John; sisters-in-law: Marjorie Mattern of Sheboygan, Juliann Stache of Chilton and Marilyn Stache of Hilbert; other relatives and many dear friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 61 years, Verna, three brothers: Harold, Melvin and Allen and his brother-in-law Robert Mattern.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Bethel Baptist Church, 2411 Weeden Creek Road in Sheboygan. Rev. Dan Babbel will officiate. A time of gathering will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Al was laid to rest at Sunrise Memorial Gardens beside Verna.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name for Bethel Baptist Church.
Al's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staffs of Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice and Meadowview Manor for their compassionate care and support.
