Anna Schoen, nee Klemm, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017 at the age of 88. She was born on July 10, 1928 in Velishkovče, Yugoslavia to Agnes (nee Wrbanatz) Klemm and Nickolaus Klemm.
Anna married Jakob Schoen on February 26, 1946 in Austria. They immigrated to the United States in 1952, living in St. Louis, New Jersey, and Milwaukee.
Anna worked for many years for Nunn-Busch Shoe Factory. In 1967 she and Jakob bought a dairy farm near Watertown where they raised registered Brown Swiss cows. The bounty from her huge garden on the farm enabled her to can, preserve or freeze fruits and vegetables that she shared with family and friends. Anna was a highly skilled seamstress. She also loved to knit and crochet and was well known for her baking skills, especially her granddaughter's favorite honey cookies and her grandson's butter horns. In later years she learned flower arranging and filled her home with many beautiful wreaths and arrangements. She loved Christmas and every year she spent days setting up her Christmas village. She loved her grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to attend their school or sport functions, and she adored her great granddaughter Winsley Anna, always looking forward to her visits at the nursing home.
In addition to her parents, Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Jakob, and two sisters, Mary Bauer and Helena Klemm.
She is survived by her son Henry (Anna Metz) Schoen, granddaughter Vicki (Keith) Herd, grandson Andy Schoen, and her precious great granddaughter Winsley Anna Schoen. She is further survived by nephew Nick (Helen) Wrbanatz of Sussex, John Schoen of Franklin, Rick Schoen of Alaska, niece Anna Schoen Miller of Florida, other relatives and friends, here and in Europe.
Visitation will take place at Ballhorn Chapel Funeral and Cremation Care Center, 1201 N. 8th St. in Sheboygan on Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee in the family plot.
