Arthur Kleine

April 21, 1930 — July 10, 2016

Arthur G. Kleine age 86, passed into the hands of Lord on Sunday, July 10, 2016 at Pine Haven Christian Home. He was born on April 21, 1930 in Sheboygan to parents Arthur and Dorothy (Gerke) Kleine. Arthur attended elementary schools Grant, Jefferson, Pigeon River and Central High School. He proudly served in the US Army from 1951 - 1953 in the 15th Consulary in Amberg, Germany, where he patrolled the Czech border. Arthur was united in marriage on August 14, 1954 to Joan DeVriend for 48 years, until her passing on May 30, 2002. Following his service, he was employed by the Sheboygan Brick Co., Kohler Co., Polarware, Motor Transport Co. (for 21 years) and retired from Advance Transportation after 9 years of service.
Arthur and Joan enjoyed bowling, traveling, card-playing, and spending time with their entire family and friends. He also spent many years coaching youth sports in the community. Arthur was a lifetime member of Memorial Post #9156 serving on the color guard, and was also a longtime member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Sheboygan.
Arthur is survived by four children, Cathy (special friend Pat Ryan) Kleine-Gohr, Arthur J. (Barbara) Kleine, Robert Kleine and Karen (Dan) Beyer; eight grandchildren, Kimberly (Anthony) Peterson, Ryan (Angie) Gohr, Aaron and Kristina Gohr, Eric (Gina) Kleine, Aimee (Mark) Kolb, Kelly Kleine and Adam (Selia) Kleine; eleven great-grandchildren, Jayden, Andon, Gwendolyn, Camden, Kaleb, Kayson, Brayden, Cameron, Emilia, Taylor and Hailey; one sister, Carmen (James) Schultz; one brother, Donald (Betty) Kleine; one sister-in-law, Marian Taylor. Also survived by nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Arthur is preceded in death by his parents; one infant sister, one nephew and special friend Ruth Steinhaus.
Private family services will be held on Wednesday at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
The family would like extend a special thanks to the entire staff at Pine Haven Christian Home, as well as Dr. Patrick Marsho, and Drs. Hiner and Sheriden at the Dept. of Neurology at Froedtert Hospital for all of their special care.
