Audrey Cornell, 88, a resident of Golden Living Center, entered eternal life on Monday, November 16, 2015. Audrey was born on June 11, 1927, in the Town of Centerville. She was the daughter of the late Roland and Babette Jacobi. Audrey was a graduate of Central High School with the class of 1945 and St. Agnes School of Nursing Cadet Nursing Core in 1948. She took a position as a registered nurse at St. Agnes Hospital and returned to Sheboygan in September of 1949 and worked at various hospitals and nursing homes in the area. She was married to Allen Cornell at St. John and St. Peter Lutheran Church, Cleveland by Pastor Eldon Bode, on December 22, 1951. Her husband preceded her in death on March 27, 2009, as did two sons, John Cornell in 1957 and James Cornell in 1967. Audrey was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. She was very involved with supporting Special Olympics, the Reins program and other activities at RCS. Audrey loved to cook and bake and spending time with her family. Camping was also a big part of her life. She is survived by a son, Charles (Marilyn) Cornell; daughter, JoAnne Cornell; granddaughter, Amy (Matt) Cornell; great-granddaughter, Jayme Cornell; two brothers, Paul (Audrey) Jacobi, all of Sheboygan and Frederick (Rosann) Jacobi, Manitowoc. She is further survived by nieces and nephews. Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, parents and a sister, Anita (Harold) Seger. A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 7, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church (2132 N 27th St. Sheboygan) with the Rev. Tim Kuske officiating. Friends may call on Monday, December 7, at the church, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Inurnment will follow at the St. Johns Cemetery, Kassa. The family would like to thank all the staff at Golden Living Center, especially Morgan, who spent a lot of time with her. They would also like to express a heartfelt thank you to Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
