Carol Hildebrand Davis "Cookie" age 69, passed away on Friday, September 02, 2016, in Folsom, CA, surrounded by her children. Carol was born in Sheboygan on February 01, 1947. She was employed with the Federal District Court in Sacramento, CA at the time of her passing. She was an analyst and "knower of all things" with the court for 25 years. A little about who she was . . . Carol was an incredibly warm and giving person and she would do anything (and often did) to help anyone who was in need. She also took in stray pets (and there were many) that her kids brought home. She would insist that they could not stay but within days they would be snuggled in with her and have a collar on with her address named. She did not know how to turn anyone away, human or otherwise. She would go without fancy things in order to do better by her children, family, friends, even her pets. Carol loved good food, a good drink (lemon drop anyone?), being with family and friends and watching sports, especially basketball. She knew more about what was going on with the NBA than most. Carol was left and right brained - she had a bachelor's degree in math and a minor in philosophy from Lakeland College and was also very creative and successful as a graphic designer. Her intelligence plus her sense of humor and quick wit made her someone people gravitated to. Her memory and attention to detail was like no other. She would often correct you with a detail from way back that others had long since forgotten. Carol was a truly genuine person, there was no false pretense with Mama Carol. What you saw is what you got with her, but she was also accepting of everyone. She made you feel like you had been friends for years even if you were just meeting her. Carol was also unflappable. There were very few things that could wind Cookie up. She just didn't bother with letting things get to her and this allowed her to be incredibly patient with others. For those of us who called her mom, words do not do her justice. She loved and supported us wholeheartedly and we were beyond lucky to have her in our lives. We will miss her every waking moment and the hole in our hearts can never be filled. We will do our best to carry on her legacy and try to be half of the person that she was at her core and hope that one day, we will be able to hug and kiss our mom again. Carol is survived by her four children; Eric (Lindsey) Davis, Sara (Michael) Camponovo, Amy (Vishal) Davis and Melina (Rosa) DelBuono; five grandchildren (who all walked on water in her mind), Charlie Jenkins, Megan Camponovo, Liam Davis, Cooper and Ben Makhijani; five siblings, Jim (Peggy) Hildebrand, Sandy Kampmann, Mike (Chris) Hildebrand, Scott (Mary) Hildebrand and Amy (Joey) Malson; mother (the beloved matriarch of our crazy clan) Marian Hildebrand. All those she touched will miss her and her infectious smile immensely. Her spirit and generosity will carry on through all of us. We hope she is somewhere with her dad, the late and unforgettable Dr. James F. Hildebrand, smiling down on all of us. A visitation will be held at Ballhorn Chapels Funeral and Cremation Care Center, 1201 N. 8th Street, Sheboygan on Saturday, September 17th from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM with a short service at 11:30 AM with Rev. Julia Hollister officiating. Food and fellowship to follow the service at Pier 17 on Sheboygan's Riverfront. Any memorial donations will be given to cancer research in Carol's name.
