Carol Lorenz

Carol Lorenz, age 80, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday morning, September 30, 2015. She was born November 12, 1934 in Sheboygan to Hugo and Eleanora (Kaufmann) Grunewald. She was a graduate of Sheboygan North High School and received her teaching degree from Lakeland College. For over twenty-five years Carol was a 3rd grade teacher at Washington Elementary School. On August 6, 1955 Carol and Jack Lorenz were united in marriage at Zion United Church of Christ. She was a member of Grace UCC Church in Kohler, WI. Carol enjoyed spending her summers at the family cottage in Phillips, WI. She also enjoyed golfing, walking, shopping, and traveling with family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband of sixty years, Jack; her children, Tim Lorenz, Scott Lorenz, Amy (Mike) Menzer, and Ann Lorenz; her grandsons, Aaron Menzer and Tyler (Emma) Menzer, all of Sheboygan. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Jim (Dianne) Lorenz of Bell Buckle, TN; her sister-in-law, Delores Lorenz of Sheboygan; and other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Tom Grunewald and her brother-in-law, Don Lorenz. A memorial service in celebration of Carol's life will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels at 3:00 p.m. Rev. Tom Schroeder of Grace United Church of Christ will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name for Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. Carol's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Comfort Keepers, especially Christy and Ninfa, and also to Sharon S. Richardson Hospice team for their loving support during this time.
