Charlene "Char" Renee Shircel, 63, of Sheboygan, passed away November 9, 2014 at her home from complications of Huntington's Disease. Char was born December 4, 1950 in Sheboygan to the late Norman and Valeria (Perronne) Gillingham. She graduated from Sheboygan South High School in 1969. On May 27, 1972, she married Benedict "Ben" Shircel at St. Andrews Lutheran Church, Sheboygan. Char was employed by the Sheboygan Press, the co-owner of the Dockside Lounge in Sheboygan and was a charter fishing captain on Lake Michigan. She enjoyed crafting, fishing, including participating in the Powder Puff Derby and was an avid Packers fan. Char also enjoyed the backyard fish ponds, spending many hour outdoors. In keeping with her love of Lake Michigan, Char helped spearhead the drive to keep the Sheboygan Coast Guard station open. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sisters, Vinette (Tom) Trumm, Sheboygan, Andrea (Russ) Ethier, West Bend and Rhonda (Roberto) Munoz, Sheboygan; one brother, Jay Gillingham, Sheboygan; brothers and sisters-in-law, Sister M. Annette Shircel, Lemont, IL, Jack (Janet) Shircel, Austin, TX, Louis Shircel, Las Vegas, NV, Richard (Judy) Shircel, Sheboygan, Chris (Joanie) Shircel, Plymouth, David Wagner, Hubertus and Debbie (Troy) Stahl, Sheboygan. She is further survived by aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Char was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Michelle, mother and father-in-law, John and Ann Shircel, one brother-in-law, Francis and two sisters-in-law, Kathleen and Rosemary.
