Charles Mazza

Charles C. Mazza, 88, passed away Wednesday, October 02, 2013 at home in Sheboygan. He was born May 29, 1925 in Milwaukee to parents Carl and Edith (Witt) Mazza. Charles graduated in 1943 from Lincoln High School in Milwaukee. On September 30, 1961, Charles was united in marriage to Caroline V. Bille at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca. The couple lived in Eagle Spring Lake WI, moving to Milwaukee and later residing in Sheboygan where they made their home since 1968. Upon graduating high school he became involved in amateur boxing, and later became a professional boxing trainer and corner man. During this time he worked with two world champions and a Canadian champion. After a successful career in boxing he found his passion in sales of men's clothing. Charles spent 45 plus years in the clothing industry, working for MacNeil & Moore, Art Imig's and C. Mazza Clothiers. Later in life he became involved in the community by opening the Sheboygan Boxing Club. Charles also spent a number of years on the City of Sheboygan Redevelopment Authority. Some of Charles' greatest passions were hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with his friends and family. He also enjoyed attending auto racing events at the Milwaukee Mile and Road America. Charles also spoiled his two favorite hunting partners Cody and Lincoln. He and Caroline were longtime members of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Charles is survived by two sons, Craig (Colleen) Mazza and Carl (Jodi) Mazza, both of Sheboygan; five grandchildren, Katelyn, Kelsey and Kylie Mazza and Michael and Lindsay Mazza; two sisters-in-law, Mary (Ozzie) Huseboe of Blair, WI and Martha Rowley of Waupaca, WI; a brother-in-law, Cornelius (Gail) Bille of LaCrosse, WI. Also loved by other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by parents, two brothers; Joseph and August, brother-in-law George Rowley, and sister-in-law Carol Bille. Funeral Service will be held for Charles on Saturday, October 5, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1614 South 23rd Street, Sheboygan at 11:00 A.M. Reverend Christian Gugel will officiate. Interment will be on Monday at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in the town of Dayton, Waupaca, WI. Friends may call on the Mazza family on Saturday at the church from 9:00 AM - 10:45 AM until time of service. In lieu of flowers memorials in his name would be appreciated.
