Christopher Richard Vollrath, age 65, passed away on June 9, 2015 at the Sharon Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls, WI. He was born on September 7, 1949, in Sheboygan, WI, to the late Richard and Jean (Lawrence) Vollrath. Chris was a graduate of North High School, class of 1967. He attended Lafayette College and graduated with a degree in economics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He received his MBA from the University of Wyoming. On August 14, 1976, Chris was united in marriage to Barbara Babler in Marshfield, WI. She preceded him in death on December 6, 2005. After receiving his MBA, Chris started his career with Security First National Bank in Sheboygan as a personal banker. He then worked at the Polar Ware Company, until becoming President of Vicom Ltd. in 1988. While working for Vicom, Chris moved to Wayzata, MN, in 1996 to run the Ware Manufacturing Company. He was still active as President of Vicom at the time of his passing. Chris enjoyed downhill skiing, golf, traveling, and summers at Elkhart. He also loved entertaining friends and family, which often led to lively discussions on various topics. He reveled in playing the devil's advocate, as anyone who ever debated him will tell you. Each fall he looked forward to cheering on his favorite teams, the Badgers and Packers, and dancing to the UW Marching Band during the 5th Quarter. Surviving Chris are his daughters: Gretchen Vollrath-Sharkey (Jason); Martha Vollrath-Mathiason (Matt); brother, Eric Vollrath (Patsy); sisters, Barb Merriett (Stan) and Heidi Kendall (Pat); mother-in-law, Bonnie Babler; sister-in-law, Jill McCullagh; brother-in-law Frank Traczyk; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his wife and parents, Chris was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Harris Babler; sister-in-law, Mari Traczyk; and brothers-in-law, Drew McCullagh and Hollister Young. A memorial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2015, at Siebkens Resort in Elkhart Lake, WI. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the UW Marching Band or a charity of your choice.
