Constance Ziegelbauer

Constance "Connie" M. Ziegelbauer, age 77, died on Monday, December 8, 2014, at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. Connie was born in Sheboygan on February 6, 1937 to the late Jacob and Martina Schinabeck. Connie graduated from Sheboygan North High School with honors, receiving the Elks Most Valuable Student Award in 1955. On January 21, 1956, Connie married Edwin Ziegelbauer at Holy Name Parish. He preceded her in death on January 18, 1983. Connie attended the University of Wisconsin and received the Certified Financial Planner Designation. She worked at Riverdale Country Club, and then concentrated on the financial services, later working for Sentry Insurance, and retired from U.S. Bank as a trust officer. In her retirement, she served as a registered representative for H.C. Denison for 15 years. In 1993, Connie purchased Fresh-flo Corporation which her family continues to operate. Connie was active in many community organizations. She served as Supervisor on the Sheboygan County Board for 20 years, primarily serving in leadership positions on the finance committee. She also was on the Sheboygan County Historical Society Board, St. Nicholas Advisory Counsel, and the Holy Name Parish Counsel. In her free time, Connie enjoyed her flowers, playing cards, and reading. She especially enjoyed worldwide traveling with her beloved friend Julie Provancher. Connie is survived by her daughter, Barbara Ziegelbauer of Plymouth; her three sons, Jerome (Cindy) Ziegelbauer and their children, Brian (Holly) Genske and Shawn Genske, all of Sheboygan, Robert (Julie) Ziegelbauer, and their children, Calla Lilly and Anna Belle Noelle, all of Haven, and Steven Ziegelbauer of Mosel; as well as several step grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Crescentia "Chris" Holbrook and her children; Aaron (Mel) Holbrook, Laura Kemps and her children; Hunter and Sydney Kemps; Anthony Holbrook and his daughter, Aniah. Connie was very proud of her children and grandchildren, and their accomplishments. Mass of Christian Burial for Connie will be celebrated at noon on Friday, December 12, 2014 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. Father Matthew Widder will be celebrant. A time of visitation and support will be held on Friday from 9:00 am until the time of service. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Connie has requested memorials to Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School, Sheboygan County Historical Society, or to Calvary Cemetery. Connie's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the caregivers at Sunny Ridge Health & Rehabilitation Center, St. Nicholas Hospital, Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, and especially, Dr. Louie Coulis for the patience, care, and compassion shown to her.
