Corrine Marie Welsch

Corrine (Connie) M. Welsch, 94, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Lakehouse Sheboygan Assisted Living. She was born on October 29, 1930, in Sheboygan to the late Otto and Ovila Marold on Lens Court. Connie graduated from North High School in 1949. After graduation she worked as a model for Kohler Company, salesperson at Prange’s Department Store, Garrison and Scroggins Jewelry Store as well as a volunteer at Memorial Hospital. She was a life-emeritus member of the Sheboygan Yacht Club and a member of The First United Lutheran Church. On June 10, 1950, she married the late Roland Welsch in Sheboygan. 

Connie enjoyed annual camping every summer at Peninsula State Park with the Dekker family and weekends on Wheeler Lake with Freddie Knaub and friends. She enjoyed playing bridge and enjoyed playing in several clubs. Double solitaire was a daily activity after dinner with her husband and cribbage at night. Her passion was for her two sons, Jeffrey and Todd, to whom she devoted her time, resources, and love to ensure their success in life. 

Connie is survived by her two sons, Jeff (Holly) Welsch, Lake George, Colorado, and Todd (Teresa) Welsch, Columbia, South Carolina; one granddaughter, Allie Welsch, Lake George Colorado; and three great grandchildren, Lindee, Grady, and Frankie Welsch. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Roland, and one sister, Jean Dekker. 

A funeral service for Connie will be held at First United Lutheran Church on Friday, January 3, 2025 at 11:30 a.m., with the Reverend Gerald Mansholt officiating. Friends may call on Friday, January 3, 2025 at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Entombment will be at the Lutheran Cemetery. 

The family would like to thank the staff of Lakehouse Sheboygan for their care during Connie’s stay. 

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for the First United Lutheran Church.
