Darlene Vreeke

Darlene Vreeke, age 85, of Sheboygan, died Monday evening, March 9, 2015. She was born August 24, 1929 in Howards Grove, WI to Reuben and Laura (Herwig) Groene. On November 8, 1952 Darlene was united in marriage to William F. Vreeke. He preceded her in death on November 5, 1991. For many years Darlene was employed at Bank Mutual in Sheboygan, retiring in 1992. Darlene was currently worshiping at Christian Life Assembly of God in Plymouth, WI. Darlene was an avid sports follower and enjoyed attending many Green Bay Packer games. She had a love of animals and enjoyed attending llama shows/sales with her daughter, Vanessa throughout the Midwest. She also traveled to Switzerland and Mexico. She was an enthusiastic shopper who loved a good deal. Darlene was a very caring/supportive person who loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her children, William L. Vreeke, Randall D. (Jo Anne) Vreeke, Brett P. (Lynn) Vreeke, and Vanessa L. (Carl) Kessler; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joyce (Vilas) Vreeke and Connie Skelton; and other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Kenneth Skelton. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2015 at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels. Pastor Richard York of Christian Life Assembly of God in Plymouth, will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Entombment will take place at Gardens of Peace Mausoleum in Kohler.
