David Frederick Otto, 64, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Sunday morning, December 6, 2015, at Froedtert Lutheran Hospital in Milwaukee, with his partner, Sharon, at his side. David was born January 23, 1951, in Sheboygan, to the late James and Vivian (Fields) Otto. He graduated from Sheboygan South High School in 1970. David was a painter/contractor in his early years. He worked briefly at Tecumseh Products in Sheboygan Falls, retiring due to his health. In September of 2002, he was given the ultimate gift of life; a kidney and pancreas transplant. Due to complications followed by a miracle, he was given a second kidney the following night. Despite his health problems, David was a man that was willing to help others. For many years, he went up north to help his friends father, Robbie Starich, improve his cabin. They were like a second family to him. His neighbor, Roma Roethel, was like a second mom to him. Sharons son, Jon was like a son to him. David was a retired member of the Sheboygan County Motorcycle Club and helped organize their benefits. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time up north with his longtime friends. He enjoyed going to garage sales and collected beanie babies, unique vases and anything vintage. His babies were his indoor plants that would grow to the ceiling. His buddy was Jordan Behling, who he hoped to see graduate from the Marine Corps in January. He leaves behind his partner of 18 years, Sharon Barts; her children, Sherry (Terry), Cheryl (Jamin), Jonathan (Janell) and Monica (Tim); his longtime friends, Mark (Rose) Starich, Larry (Irene) Schade, Randy (Laurie) Hoard, Al (Patty) Jenkins, Barb Schade and Robert Bower; his daughter, Pamela Strange; his sisters, Debbie (Russell) Leon and Cheryl (Robert) Kruschke and his brother, James Otto. He has gone to a better world, joining his son, John and his brother Steve. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 11, 2015, at 6:30 p.m. at Zimmers Westview Funeral and Cremation Care Center (Hwy 42 JJ, Howards Grove) with the Rev. Gregory Whelton officiating. Friends may call on Friday, at the funeral home, from 4:30 p.m. until the time of service. Please visit www.zimmerfuneralhome.com to sign the guestbook. Sharon would like to thank the staff of Froedtert Hospital for the compassionate care for David. A memorial fund has been established in Davids name.
