Dean Stanley Linsley

Dean Stanley Linsley Jr., 95, transferred to Eternal Life on April 19th, 2025 at Pine Haven Christian Communities – Sheboygan Falls. Dean was born on April 28th, 1929, in Madison, to Dean and Edna (Andersen) Linsley. He was a graduate of Milwaukee North Division High School, Class of 1948. On Nov. 10, 1950, Dean and Nancy Jean Borchardt were united in marriage at Garfield Baptist Church in Milwaukee. Dean, Nancy and their young daughter, Diane, moved to Cedarburg in 1955, where Dean was employed at Jung Furniture for several years. Dean was an appliance technician for most of his working life and retired from the General Electric Company in Milwaukee in 1990, after 30 years of service. While employed at GE, Dean was a labor leader and President of Local Machinists’ Lodge 1668. Dean and Nancy moved to Oostburg in 1994 and were grateful for the friendship and support of their neighbors over the 30 years that they lived there. Dean was a talented artist in a variety of mediums, including woodcarving, sketching and three-dimensional woodcraft. Many were the fortunate beneficiaries of Dean’s works of art. Dean was also a spiritual man and learned in the Word of God. He taught Sunday school, led Bible studies and occasionally delivered the Sunday message at the churches he and his wife attended over the years. Dean is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Michael Schmahl of Sheboygan. In addition to his beloved wife, Nancy, he was preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law Elmer and Amanda Borchardt and infant son, Steven. When asked how he wanted to be remembered, he replied, “The only thing I want to leave this world with is that I made a difference wherever I was and I believe I have.” Dean did indeed make a difference with his laid back manner, quiet wisdom and sense of humor.

A private graveside service was officiated by Chaplain Kevin Spaeth ­­­where Dean was laid to rest alongside his wife at Wildwood Cemetery in Sheboygan. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Michael Martella of Froedtert, Dr. S. Mark Bettag, Amy Clark, APRN and the staff of Sheboygan Cancer & Blood Specialists, as well as the staff at Pine Haven Christian Communities and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for the care and compassion Dean received.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Dean’s memory to the Sheboygan County Cancer Fund.
