Dolores Mary Schmidt Donlon age 91, passed away peacefully Friday August 21, 2015 with family by her side at Golden Living Center, Sheboygan. She was born January 20th, 1924, during a blizzard at her parent's home in Sheboygan to the late Alvin and Louise (Molitor) Schmidt. She was preceded in death by her husband George Donlon, children Kathleen and Gary, grandson Brandon, sisters Virginia Qualls (Dr. Lilbourn Qualls) and Louise Stieber (GG. Stieber) and brothers Bud/Alvin Schmidt (Johanna) Leo Schmidt (Ruth) and William Schmidt (Charlotte). She is survived by her daughter Carol Donlon, Sheboygan and sons Jonathan (Cindy) Hart, Hales Corners, Mark (Jane) Donlon, David (Kathy) Donlon both of Sheboygan, Michael (Wendy) Donlon, Newton, Christopher (Constance) Donlon, Elkhart Lake, ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Dolores graduated Central High school class of 1941, united in married to George Donlon at St. Peter Claver Parish in 1946. She was a long time member, Eucharistic Minister and lector at Immaculate Conception Parish, Sheboygan. Dolores was a proud homemaker and took great pride in raising her family. She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling to many parts of the world. Her personal commitment was to assist others in achieving wellbeing in body, mind and spirit. She was the founder and President of New Perspectives, a personal development and consultant agency specializing in group and individual self-growth and wellness maintenance. She was an educator, counselor and certified specialist in the use of Guided Imagery and Music and a Fellow of the Association for Music and Imagery. A Reiki II practitioner in the healing arts, she brought spiritual and psychological disciplines of her personal and vital focus to holistic health practices through her years of professional and community service. Ms. Donlon was a charter member of the board of Directors of the Sheboygan Wellness Association, a national and international presenter, she conducted seminars and workshops for Continuing Education programs, presented through the University of Wisconsin, Sheboygan, LTC, Telesis Institute, and life enrichment programs through various community agencies. Ms. Donlon also held a private practice in the field of past life therapy, conducting lectures and seminars for mental and emotional health in wellness programs. A celebration of Dolores's life will begin at 10:00 am Friday August 28, 2015 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at Immaculate Conception Parish, 1305 Humboldt Ave. Sheboygan. The Reverend Glenn Powers will be the celebrant. Inurrnment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established in her name. The Donlon family would like to extend a special thank you to Christine Sloan, the staff at Golden Living Center and St. Nicholas Hospital Hospice for the care and compassion shown to her.
