Donald Bourret

Donald R. Bourret, of Sheboygan, passed away Monday morning, November 20, 2017 at Woodland Manor in Sheboygan Falls. He was 90 years.
Donald was born May 14, 1927 in Sheboygan, the son of Archie and Leonna (nee Kuether) Bourret. He attended Urban School and graduated in 1945 from North High School. After high school, he went on to serve his country in the United States Coast Guard from 1945-1946. On May 22, 1948, he was united in marriage with Patricia Muehlbauer in Sheboygan.
Don worked as a journeyman glass blower for 17 years at Eureka Williams in Bloomington, IL and later as a tool crib manager at Hayssen Manufacturing in Sheboygan. After 10 years, he retired in 1987. After retirement, he worked as a part-time ranger at Blackwolf Run for 13 summers, and as a courier for Johnson Bank for 8 years.
Don was a member of The Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer. He was an avid Green Bay Packer and Wisconsin Badger fan, and enjoyed golfing. As a young man, he was proud to serve as the first Captain of the original Red Wing football team in 1948.
Don is survived by his wife Patricia and their daughters: Vickie (Greg) Smith of Bloomington, IL and Jackie (Kevin Mackey) Bourret of Naperville, IL. He is further survived by his grandson Patrick (Laura) Smith of Washington DC, his brother Arch Bourret of Columbia, MO, brothers and sisters-in-law Beatie Bourret, Jim Erdmann and John (Carol) Muehlbauer, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his siblings: Shirley Kellner, Roger Bourret, Gordon Bourret, Charlotte Levchenko and Beverly Erdmann.
A Funeral Service for Don will be held at 12:30PM on Friday, November 24, 2017 at Ballhorn Chapels Funeral & Cremation Care Center, 1201 N. 8th St. in Sheboygan with military honors to follow. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday from 11:30AM - 12:30PM. Don will be entombed at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
