Donald Fenske

July 28, 1940 — June 3, 2014

Donald A Fenske, 73, of 1420 N. 17th Street, Sheboygan, died at Sharon Richardson Community Hospice on Tuesday morning, June 3, 2014 surrounded and comforted by his family. Donald was born July 28, 1940 in Illinois to Gustav and Myrtle (Krueger) Fenske. He graduated at Concordia River Forest where he received his BS degree in Education in 1963. On June 29th, 1963 Donald was united in marriage to Sandra Roenz of Manawa, Wisconsin. The couple has resided in Sheboygan, Wisconsin for the past 50 years. Donald began his teaching career in Hyattsville, Maryland and later moved to Sheboygan where he taught at Trinity Lutheran School. He continued his career as an insurance salesman for AAL, now Thrivent, with the Jim Mech agency, until moving on to work for Hayssen, and later where he retired at the Sheboygan Paper Box Company. Donald enjoyed singing where he sang in the choir at both Trinity and St. Paul's Lutheran churches. He was a member at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with his grandchildren, and especially at his beloved cottage in Northern Wisconsin. In addition to his wife, Sandra, Donald is survived by four children Jennifer (Joel) Pralle and their children, Jacob and Madyson of Rochester, Minnesota; Stefanie Willard and her daughter, Maya of Buford, Georgia; Susan (David) Ferguson and their children, Nathan and Morgan of Kenosha, Wisconsin; Kathryn (Joel) Pape and their children, James, Faith, Grace, and Hope, of Belgium, Wisconsin. Donald was preceded in death by his parents and brother, George Fenske. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 7th at 12:00 PM at St. Paul's Lutheran church in Sheboygan Falls. Reverend Mark L Janzen will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held at the church on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. Donald's family extends their thanks to the caregivers of the VNA, especially MaryAnn and Judy, as well as the staff of the Sharon Richardson hospice center for their kindness and dedication.
