Donna M. Walsh-Frye, 49, of Wauwatosa, passed away Thursday, July 31, 2014 at AVNA Zilber Family Hospice. Donna was born November 4, 1964 at Otis Air Force Base in Cape Cod, Mass. to David and Marilyn (Fierke) Metz. She graduated from Sheboygan North High School and earned her Masters degree in education from Lakeland College. On June 30, 2007, she married the love of her life, Terry Frye in Waukesha at the Loft and Chapel. Donna was employed as an ESL teacher for the Wauwatosa school district. She loved serving her students from elementary through middle school. Her hobbies included sewing, knitting, photography, music, especially the saxophone, cooking, camping, talking around the campfire, playing Sheepshead and World of Warcraft. Survivors include her husband, Terry; one son, Nicholas; one daughter, Abby; one stepson, Tim; her parents; three brothers, Doug (Shane) of Nashville, Mike of Sheboygan and Steve (Tina) of Sheboygan; one sister, Beth (Tom) Vershowske of Wales. She is further survived by her nieces and nephews, Jessica Quasius, Jessica Plate, Michael Metz, Natalie Plate, Alex Bahn and Sam Metz. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, George and Esther Metz, her maternal grandparents, Victor and Eleanor Fierke and her sister, Jennifer Jindra. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at the Zimmer's Westview Funeral and Cremation Care Center (Hwy 42 & JJ, Howards Grove) with Chaplain Don Sass officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday, at the funeral home, from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Stetsonville. A memorial fund has been established in her name. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of AVNA Zilber Family Hospice, Dr. John Charlson and the Breast Center staff for their compassion and support.
