Doris Margenau

Doris "Dolly" C. Margenau, 92, of Sheboygan, passed away on Monday, October 5, 2015 at her home. Doris was born on November 21, 1922 in Sheboygan to William and Alma (Krieglstein) Feld. She attended grade school St. Holy Name School I Sheboygan, then St. George's Grade School in Six Corners, and attended Oostburg High School, graduating in 1941. On September 25, 1948 she was united in marriage to Fredrick A. "Fred" Margenau Sr. at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Sheboygan. They were married for 53 years until Fred passed away on July 19. 2002. Doris worked at Garton Toy after graduation for seven years, and then later part-time at Jungs and Pranges until 1975. She loved working in her gardens around the house and sewing. She loved bowling but had to give it up in 1993 when she injured her back. Doris also enjoyed going to her trailer at Lake Ellen until 2000. Doris was a devoted Catholic, she also enjoyed going to the Senior Center and playing cards and bingo. Doris is survived by her two sons; Fred "Rick" (Mary) Margenau of Howards Grove, and David (Sandy Kolenc) Margenau of Sheboygan, by her daughter Carol (Michael) Gahagan of Sheboygan, by eight grandchildren; John Sterk, Carrie (Craig) Morrow, Nicole (fiancée Jarrod Brown) Margenau, Debra (Patrick) Landgraf, Heather Koene, Hollie (Tony) Batt, Sean Gahagan and Mike Gahagan Jr., by thirteen great-grandchildren, her two sisters; Virginia (Elmer) Ott and Shirley Mustas both of Sheboygan, and sister-in-law Shirley Margenau of Sheboygan. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husband Fred, a brother, a sister, and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at 7:00 PM at Ballhorn Chapels Funeral & Cremation Care Center 1201 N. 8th St. Sheboygan, with Fr. Richard Fleischman officiating. Entombment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may visit and support the family on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the FUNERAL HOME.
