Dorothy K. Josephson, age 89, of Pewaukee, died peacefully Wednesday, March 23, 2016 surrounded by loving family. She was born January 25, 1927 in Sheboygan to Louis and Mary Katchkey. She was a graduate of Sheboygan North High School, after which she received her degree as a registered nurse in Chicago. She worked as a psychiatric and geriatric nurse, and for the last twenty-five years of her career at The Jewish Home and Care Center in Milwaukee.
Dorothy was dedicated to her family and all those she helped as a nurse. She regularly volunteered at charity events and closest to her heart was the American Red Cross.
Dorothy is survived by three sons, Martin Josephson and his wife, Janet Dobbs of Milwaukee, Steven (Susan) Josephson of Dickinson, North Dakota, and Kenneth (Tracie) Josephson of Las Vegas, Nevada; four grandchildren, Martha Josephson, Leah Josephson, Brandon Josephson, and Karla Josephson; her twin sister, Ruth Choy of Sheboygan; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, Richard Josephson and brothers and sisters, Meyer, Morris, Simon, Milton, Max, Albert, Mike, Jessie, Ida, and Rose.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 28th, 2016 at 12:00 Noon at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels. Jewish Religious Leader Lowell Louis will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Sheboygan Hebrew Cemetery in Kohler.
Donations in her name would be appreciated for the American Red Cross.
Dorothys family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Waukesha Memorial Hospital, Lawlis Family Hospice in Mequon, and all the support her family has received from family and friends.
