Edwin Subat

Edwin "Ed" Subat, 80 years of age, passed away Wednesday July 16, 2014. Ed was born May 5, 1934 in Sheboygan to Edwin and Mabel (Trumm) Subat. He graduated High School from Sheboygan Falls in 1953, veteran of the Navy and lifelong member of the 8-Ball Lodge. After the Navy, Ed worked on the Great Lakes ships with the Wilson Line before retiring from Kohler after 33 years. Ed was a very quiet and private man who enjoyed hunting & fishing, being outdoors. His greatest joy and happiness came from all of his family which he loved and cherished. Ed is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Barbara "Ruth", sons Michael (Jane) Subat and Henry (Mary) Gayheart, daughter Alice (Bodo) Zacharek; sister Marlee Mulnix; grandchildren David (Amy) Nischik, Cathy Nischik, Evan Gayheart, Trevor (Hazel) Gayheart, Atticus Subat and Peri Subat. He was preceded in death by his parents, aunt Esther and uncle Harry, brother Bob. A visitation will be held at Ballhorn Chapels, on Sunday, July 20, from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM. Me-morial Service at 3:00 PM with Pastor Jeff Watson presiding. The family wishes to thank the staff at Sunny Ridge Nursing Home for their wonderful care.
