Elfriede Hinson

March 5, 1930 — August 18, 2014

Elfriede I. Hinson, 84, of Sheboygan, died unexpectedly and went home to be with her Lord on Monday, August 18, 2014 at Sunny Ridge Rehabilitation Center. Elfriede was born March 5, 1930, in Stuttgart, Germany to the late Rudolf and Sofie Krautter. She spent her childhood in Stuttgart, making many friends that she kept in touch with through the years. She moved to the United States in 1956. On November 4, 1956, she married the love of her life, William A. Hinson in South Carolina, surrounded by William's large family. They enjoyed 55 wonderful years of marriage together. William preceded her in death on February 23, 2012. Elfriede enjoyed cooking and baking and was known for her famous Christmas cookies. Elfriede and William loved to travel, spending many vacations in Myrtle Beach and South Carolina with their daughter Janet and family. Survivors include her daughter, Janet (Larry) Krueger, Sheboygan; two grandsons, Jason (Tina) Krueger, Milwaukee and Adam Krueger, Sheboygan; one great granddaughter, Allison Krueger, Milwaukee. In addition to her spouse and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Willie and Oskar (Maria) Krautter. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church (3816 S. 12th Street, Sheboygan) with the Rev. Dana Loney and the Rev. Mark Krueger of Marshfield officiating. Friends may call on Thursday, at the church, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of services. Interment will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. A memorial fund has been established for the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research and Christ Lutheran Church. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her angels, Dr. Santhosh Kumar, nurse Debbie Gray and Dr. Badri Ganju and the staff of Sunny Ridge Rehabilitation Center, especially nurse Heather Raeder. She had a warm personality that touched many lives and will be missed by her family, friends and her black cat, Sexy.
