Elizabeth “Liz” Hamilton Coffey was born on October 10, 1929 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin to Agusta and Walter Hamilton. She graduated from Connecticut College in 1952. Liz married Arthur Jerome (Jerry) Coffey on October 23, 1954. They moved to Sheboygan where they raised their six children.
Surrounded by her children, Liz joined her beloved husband and son in heaven on March 28, 2021.
Liz was generous with her time through involvement in many civic groups, including Sheboygan Service Club, Meals on Wheels, and serving as the chapter president of A.F.S. Later in life, Liz spent her winters in Tucson, Arizona, enjoying the desert sun. There she supported the Desert Museum, Tohono Chul, and was an avid gem show enthusiast.
Liz loved life. But more than life, she had a deep love for those around her and shared it unconditionally. She was always the life of the party, making sure everyone was smiling, laughing and joining her in drinking a nice bottle of Chardonnay. She was never the first to leave the party and if she had one fear in life, it was missing out. Sunday mornings in the Northwoods, her happy place, you could find her on the porch reading the Sunday papers or the latest best-selling novels. She also enjoyed Bridge club with her lifelong friends in Sheboygan. Another way to describe Liz was fun. LIZ = FUN
She is survived by her five loving children, John (Mark Falter), Juli (Dan Olson), Barbara (Phil Smoot), Ellen (Phil) Mueller, and Elizabeth (Arron) Valleen. She is further survived by nine beloved grandchildren, Todd, Samantha (Troy), Emma, Eli, Sam, Ben, Grace, Maggie, Charlie, five great grandchildren, and many loving friends, nieces and nephews. She will also miss her ever faithful companion, rescued from the streets of Tucson, Moxie. Her legacy of unconditional love will remain a constant in the hearts of those who knew her.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, A.J. Coffey and her first born son, Michael Christopher Coffey.
