Elmer Schultz, 91, of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Golden Living Center in Sheboygan. Elmer was born on April 14, 1924 in Caroline, WI to the late William and Amalia (Fischer) Deckert-Schultz. He attended Trinity Lutheran School and Central High School. Elmer proudly served in the US Army during WWII from 1943 to 1944. On May 30, 1953 he was united in marriage to the love of his life Marjorie Borth, at the Salvation Army Church in Sheboygan. Elmer was employed by American Chair Co. and the Sheboygan Public Schools until his retirement in 1985. He was a member of Evangelical Free Church in Sheboygan. Elmer had a hobby farm with lots of animals, and enjoyed keeping it manicured like a golf course. Some of his other hobbies included old cars, woodworking, watching wrestling and the Packers, wearing his green and gold. Elmer and Margie enjoyed traveling and taking bus tours, listening and dancing to Polka music, and tuning in to the daily classified ads on WHBL. He also loved spending time and playing the flag match game with his grandchildren, and welcoming the birth of his great-grandchildren. Elmer is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Marjorie, his daughters; Linda Voskamp and Wanda (Brian) Drews, by grandchildren; Joshua (Holly) Prigge, Angela (Nathan) Putz, Ashley (Tyler) Groat, and step-granddaughter Tara Drews, by great-grandchildren; Malorie, Markus, and Tanner Prigge, Chloe, Caleb, Ethan and Mason Putz, by his sisters-in-law; Sandra Schultz, and Ruthann Johnson, by brothers-in-law; Niles (Kay) Borth, Louis (Charlene) Borth, and Alan Collins. Also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Richard and Clarence Schultz, Henry (Emma) Deckert, Rudolph (Dorothy) Deckert, and Christ Deckert, and by his sisters; Molly (Walter) Halverson and Violet (Charles) McGuire, by brothers-in-law; Charles (Joyce) Borth, Gene Borth, and James Johnson, by sisters-in-law; Arlene (Harold) Heck, Dorothy Collins, and Darlyn Borth. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 23, 2015 at 11:30 AM at Ballhorn Chapels Funeral & Cremation Care Center 1201 N. 8th St, Sheboygan, with Pastor Jon MacDonald officiating. Entombment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends are welcome to visit and support the family on Friday, October 23, 2015 from 9:30 to 11:30 AM at the FUNERAL HOME. The family would like to express a special Thank You to the staff at Golden Living Center, AseraCare Hospice, and Columbia St. Mary's Hospital for the care and support they gave to Elmer and his family.
