Elsie Udovich

October 25, 1927 — June 22, 2015

Elsie Ann Udovich, 87, of Sheboygan, passed away after a lengthy illness, Sunday June 21, 2015 at her home. She was born October 25, 1927, in Sheboygan, to the late Rudy and Ann (Demshar) Marinshek. She attended Ss. Cyril and Methodius Grade School and graduated from Central High School in 1945. On January 3, 1948 she married Joseph Udovich Jr. at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on January 11, 2012. She and her husband owned and operated Pool Tavern and Joe Udovich's Pool Tables. She was a lifelong member of Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church. She had a warm heart and was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who always put her family first. Her family was her greatest accomplishment and she always enjoyed their activities. She was a happy and jovial person always ready to welcome friends and family into her home. She also enjoyed needlework, crossword puzzles, the outdoors, animals and wildlife, especially watching and feeding the birds. She is greatly loved and will be missed. She is survived by her three children, Jay (Diane) Udovich, Dave (Jessica) Udovich, Wendy (Charles) Yurk, Sr.; eight grandchildren, Tammy (Ken) Miller, Jeff (Dawn) Udovich, Jesse (Melissa) Udovich, Jason (Tiffany) Udovich, Nicholas (Caitlin) Udovich, Manda (Brett) Meulbroek, Nicole (Chad) Spitz, all of Sheboygan, Charles "CJ" (Katie) Yurk, Jr., Cleveland; 17 great-grandchildren, Sarah and Matthew Miller, Trenton and Kaitlyn Udovich, Brayden Udovich, Jasmine and Meghan Blessing, Logan, Blake and Owen Udovich, Alyssa and Abigail Meulbroek, Cameron and Connor Spitz, all of Sheboygan, Joseph and Ava Yurk, Patrick Brockmann, Cleveland, One sister, Florence Eslinger of Minot, North Dakota; two brothers-in-law, Al Udovich of Sheboygan and Lenny Udovich of Indiana; three sisters-in-law, Carol Udovich of Sheboygan, Olga Jorsch of Milwaukee and Mary Ann Vikstrom of Michigan. She was preceded in death by her husband, an infant daughter, parents, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Joseph and Louise Udovich, Sr., three brothers-in-law, Herbert Jorsch, Sven "Herb" Vikstrom, Louis Udovich and three sisters-in-law, Shirley Udovich, Evelyn Udovich and Molly (Sister Carmel). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church (822 New Jersey Avenue, Sheboygan) with Fr. Paul Fliss as celebrant. Friends may call on Thursday, at the church, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Interment will follow at the Greendale Cemetery. A heartfelt thank you to the entire staff of St. Nicholas Home Health and Hospice, Companion Care and Home Instead for all their love and compassion. A very special thank you to Crystal, Janet, Tara, Rachel and Emily for without their wonderful caring and compassion we would not have been able to keep Mom at home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Elsie's memory.
