Emil Stauber, age 71, died Friday morning August 29th, 2014 at home surrounded by his family after a fighting a courageous battle with ALS. Emil was born August 7, 1943 to the late Frank and Lauretta Stauber. He was united in marriage on August 6, 1966 to Virginia Fenner at St. Lukes Lutheran church in Sheboygan Falls. Emil worked in the harness industry for the last 54 years. He became the owner of Feather Weight Turf in 1989 which he ran until the time of his death. Emil was known across the country and throughout the world as a gifted harness maker. His talents enabled him to create new and innovated products for the harness racing industry. Emil had a great love for fishing, hunting and spending time with his family, particularly his two grandchildren, Brittany and Kyle. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. Emil is survived by his wife Virginia, daughter Tina Stauber, daughter Kelly (Gary) Dawson and granddaughter Brittany Dawson (special friend David Derus) and grandson Kyle Dawson. He is also survived by his sister Mickey Meives, and brothers Dennis Stauber and Andy (Joan) Stauber. He is further survived by other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and three brothers. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Zimmer's Westview Funeral and Cremation Care Center (Hwy 42 & JJ, Howards Grove) with the Rev. Elizabeth Jaeger officiating. Friends may call on Saturday, at the funeral home, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service for coffee and donuts. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Emil's name for the ALS association of Wisconsin. The family would like to thank Sharon, Shoua, Daysanou, and Hue for their years of dedicated service to Feather Weight Turf. The family also wishes to thank the Aurora Visiting Nurses Association for the care that was provided during his final days.
