Ernst Wuestenhagen

Ernst "Ernie" D. Wuestenhagen, 53, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2015 after a fifteen month battle with pancreatic cancer. Ernst was born May 29, 1961 in Sheboygan to Gordon and June (Eisenhardt) Wuestenhagen. He attended Howards Grove grade schools and was a graduate of Howards Grove High School, class of 1979. On March 26, 1996, Ernst Wuestenhagen and Constance Goetsch were united in marriage at Bally's Celebration Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas. For nine years Ernie was employed at Happy Joes as a manager. He was then employed with Johnsonville for twenty-eight years, most recently in the role of Inventory Planning Specialist. Ernst enjoyed hunting, fishing in Canada, watching the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers, spending time outdoors, gardening, traveling, and socializing. Ernst was strong in his faith and was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in Howards Grove. In addition to his wife, Connie, Ernie is survived by his father, Gordon Wuestenhagen; his sister, Cynthia (Larry) Meyer; his brother, Dale (Jean) Wuestenhagen; his step-father, Alton Erickson; his mother-in-law, Sandra Goetsch; three brothers-in-law, Michael (Dawn) Goetsch, Kevin Goetsch, and Dean (Tracy) Goetsch; his sister-in-law, Dana Goetsch; three step-sisters, Sharon (Tom) Grasse, Jennifer Weissgerber, Jeanne (Marie Grapentine) Erickson; his step-sister-in-law, Kathy Erickson; his step-brother, Mark (Collette) Erickson; four nieces, Tiffany (Mark) Bimmel, Nicole Wuestenhagen, Danielle (Eric) Weisenberger, and Kwincie (Sean Mueller) Goetsch; six nephews, Christopher (Lisa) Schmidt, Joseph Wuestenhagen, Tyler Goetsch, Cody Goetsch, Chad Hirsh, and Joey Grunewald; his two cats, Shredder and Culvert; and many other relatives and friends. Ernie was preceded in death by his mother, June Erickson; his nephew, Matthew Jon Wuestenhagen, his brother-in-law, Steven Schmidt; his step-brother, Alton Butch Erickson Jr.; and his step-mother, Roseli Wuestenhagen. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 pm on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, 441 Millersville Avenue, Howards Grove. Rev. Tom Unke will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held on Thursday from 12:30 pm until the time of service at church. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be donated to www.curepc.org in memory of Ernie and his battle with pancreatic cancer. Connie and Ernst would like to thank their outstanding support team of family, friends, employees of Johnsonville, Belmark, and Bemis, congregation of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, doctors and staff of Froedtert Cancer Center, ICU and 8NT, Matthew's Oncology, and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for the care and compassion shown to them.
