Frank Kotnick

Frank M. Kotnick, 94, of Sheboygan, passed away Friday, February 15, 2013 at Sheboygan Senior Community surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 11, 1918 in Sheboygan to the late John and Josephine (Starich) Kotnick. He graduated from Ss Cyril & Methodius Grade School. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII as a dental Technician. Frank was united in marriage to Martha Schimpf on October 8, 1949 at Ss.Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Sheboygan. Frank lived his entire life on Mayflower Ave., having built their home next to the house he was born in. Martha preceded him in death March 4, 2010. Frank was employed by Armira Leather from 1955 until his retirement in 1981. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping and tinkering. He was very passionate about polka music and dancing. He could fix anything and was always willing to lend a hand. He was a lifelong member of Ss Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church. Survivors include his two daughters, Marilyn (Bryan) Hendricks and Cheryl Lopour, both of Sheboygan; seven grandchildren, William (Amy Washburn) and Rebecca Simon, Benjamin and Matthew Hendricks, Erin (fiance' Zak VanWyk) Lopour and Daniel and David Lopour; a great-grandson, Joseph Simon; his sisters in-law, Betty Kotnick, Helen Plumb and Julie Jekenewicz, brother in-law Jack Steffes, all of Sheboygan, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends, especially his neighbor Frank Uraynar. He was preceded in death by his brothers; John, Rudy, Tony, Joe, Wally, Karl and Billy, and his sisters; Jospehine, Aggie, Mimi, and Jeanie. He was also preceded by his son-in-law Jim Lopour. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Frank on Monday, February 18, 2013, at 10:00 A.M, at Ss Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church; Reverend Richard Cerpich will be the Celebrant. Friends may call on Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Zimmer's Westview Funeral & Cremation Care Center from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., and at church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Burial will take place at Greendale Cemetery. The family would like to thank Dr. Patrick Marsho, his staff, and the nursing staff of Sheboygan Senior Community A memorial fund has been established in his name.
