Frank Anthony Reif, age 88, passed away peacefully at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice on August 19, 2024. He was born on January 21,1936 in Milwaukee to the late Gehard and Annette (Mayerly) Reif. On August 31, 1969, he married the love of his life, Susan Frees.
Frank was a hard worker his entire life. He worked at Charlie’s Market, was a shoe shiner for Frances Schommer, and delivered baked goods for Nickel’s Bakery in Bryan, Ohio. He would always say how he loved spending time with the lifelong friends he made during his time in Ohio, especially the Depews. He loved traveling with Susan. Following his well-deserved retirement as a Production Superintendent at Borden Chemical, he and Susan rock hunted in the plains of South Dakota, and shared their treasured rocks with family and friends. He also loved to gamble and go out to eat. As much as he loved traveling, he really enjoyed working on his property and home with Susan. Together they had some of the best gardens, both flowers and vegetables. He and Susan shared their bounty with their community, including bringing fresh tomatoes to Rupps Restaurant. Of course, their family and friends always enjoyed receiving the beautiful produce. The couple always had picnics and parties. His daughters remember fondly always playing the famous egg toss game.
Frank is survived by his children Nannette (David) Pockat, Kelly (Dave) Pfeifer, Anna Reif, Gary (Sabrina) Reif, his grandchildren Natasha Martinez and Trevor Pockat (special friend Savana), and his great-grandchild Elliot Martinez. He is further survived by many other family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, Frank is preceded in death by his incredibly beautiful and loving wife Susie, and his son Wade.
The family would like to thank the wonderful, outstanding, and caring staff at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. It is hard to put into words just how amazing the entire staff was to their father, and how comforting they were to Nan and Kelly during this very difficult time in their lives.
Per Frank’s wishes, there will be no services held, and burial will be private.
Please consider a donation to Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in memory of Frank.
