Fred Hollander

Fred M. Hollander, 63, of Kiel, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on March 4, 1952 to Fred D. and Antionette (Blok) Hollander in Sheboygan. Fred attended Sheboygan Christian School and graduated from North High School in 1970. He then went on to attend North Central College and Calvin College, graduating in 1975. On June 15, 1990 he was united in marriage to Beth (Voskuil) Adams. Fred was employed by Wells Fargo, Citizens Bank, Windmill Woodworking for 13 years, and retired from US Bank. He was a member of Bethany Reformed Church, the YMCA, and the Rotary Club. Fred was the Treasurer of Sheboygan Christian Schools School Board, served on the YMCA board, volunteered with Meals on Wheels, and served on church council boards. His greatest love was singing with The Lakeshore Chorale, The Sheboygan Symphony Chorus, and Morning Star. He also enjoyed directing several church choirs and solo work for weddings and funerals. Fred is survived by his wife Beth, children: Alison (Steve) Heeringa, Joshua (Crystal) Hollander, Paul (Marcy) Adams, and Noah (Laura) Hollander, by nine grandchildren: Levi Herringa, Charlotte Heeringa, Elsa Herringa, Lindley Adams, Ruby Adams, Zoe Hollander, Micah Hollander, Gretta Hollander, and Lyza Hollander, by his sisters: Pat (Jim) Kerwin and Peg Hollander, by in-laws: Lyle (Barb) Voskuil, Mark (Mary Ellen) Voskuil,and Roy (Beth) Voskuil. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Karen (Walkotten) Hollander, and his granddaughter Annika Beth Herringa. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Bethany Reformed Church 1415 Washington Ave. Sheboygan, with Pastor Philip Rose officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Friday, December 18, 2015 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the CHURCH. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either Sheboygan Christian Schools, Bethany Reformed Church, or the charity of your choice.
