Frieda M. Hermann, age 97, of Sheboygan, died peacefully Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Pine Haven Christian Home in Sheboygan Falls.
She was born April 19, 1920 in Koslin, Germany to Anton and Minna (Villwock) Marx. Her family immigrated to Sheboygan in 1925 where she attended Trinity Lutheran Grade School and Sheboygan Vocational School. On July 8, 1939 Frieda and John Hermann were united in marriage. After sixty-three years of marriage John preceded her in death on October 17, 2002.
For many years Frieda was employed at H.C. Prange Co. as a waitress in The Shoreroom and later as a retail clerk, retiring in 1982.
She was a long-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Frieda enjoyed bowling, playing cribbage, cooking for groups and Sunday afternoon drives with John. Frieda and John also loved to dance at the Flamingo over the years. Her greatest joy came from watching her grandchildren and then great grandchildren in their various activities.
Frieda is survived by two sons, John M. Hermann and Kenneth L. (Rosemary) Hermann, all of Sheboygan; five grandchildren, Michael (Mary) Hermann of Sheboygan, Lynda (Travis) Damrow of Howards Grove, Ann (David) Brill of Oostburg, Sandra Moore and David Hermann, all of Sheboygan; eight great-granddchildren, Nicholas and Emily Hermann, Christopher and Joshua Brill, Cooper and Kyle Damrow, and Andrew and Anthony Moore; and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, John, she was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Betsy Hermann and her brother, Rudolph, sisters, Lizbeth, Vera, and Margrit; and infant brother.
