Gary Bitter

Gary "Crusher" M. Bitter, 63, passed away Sunday, July 13, 2014 at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center. Gary was born May 14, 1951 in Sheboygan to Melvin and Janet (Woepse) Bitter. He graduated from Howards Grove High School in 1969 and further attended LTC. Gary worked for the family construction business. In 1977, he married the former Gladys Nysse. Gary was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Howards Grove and was a past member of the Millersville Recreation Association. In his free time, Gary enjoyed both deer and raccoon hunting, playing softball and snowmobile racing throughout Wisconsin. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son, Jason Bitter, Denver, CO; his significant other, Jill Drews, Sheboygan; one sister, Sue (Bob) Kober, Howards Grove; one brother, David Bitter (significant other, Robin Edler), Howards Grove; one sister-in-law, Coreen Bitter, Elkhart Lake; nieces and nephews, Lisa (Brian) Wiercinski, Brian Bitter, Brittnee Bitter, Tanya (Jason) Schnell, Jeremy (Jenny) Bitter, Steph Kober, Robert II (Patience) Kober, and Brian (Felicia) Kober. He is further survived by his two dogs, Asker and Teller. He was preceded in death by his brother, Gene Bitter, his grandparents, Hugo and Laura Bitter and Ervin "Bum" and Meta Woepse and numerous aunts and uncles. A funeral service for Gary will be held on Friday, July 18, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church (441 Millersville Avenue, Howards Grove) with the Rev. Tom Unke officiating. Friends may call on Thursday, at Zimmer's Westview Funeral and Cremation Care Center (Hwy 42 & JJ, Howards Grove) from 4:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. and again on Friday, at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow the service at St. Paul's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
