Gene D. Dittrich, age 64, of Sheboygan passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at his home.
He was born in Sheboygan on October 28, 1954 to the late Eugene and Dorothy (Buerger) Dittrich. Gene attended local schools and graduated from North High School in 1972. He worked in the shipping/receiving department at Bemis Manufacturing until his retirement a few years ago.
Gene met the love of his life, Christine Price, 11 years ago and they were indeed the perfect match. Together they had two dogs whom they loved and spoiled. They enjoyed their time spent together at home soaking in the scenery that surrounded them.
Gene was also a proud mink rancher, starting as a young child working on his father Eugene's mink ranch. When his father retired from the mink business, Gene's dream of having his own mink farm was put on hold. In the late 2000's Gene was able to start up the mink farm once again. He was very proud of the couple thousand mink he raised. Throughout his years on the mink farm Gene made many long-lasting friendships.
Gene is survived by his two daughters, Victoria (Jonathan) Landgraf of Sheboygan and Jodie (Brad) Scott of Sheboygan Falls; grandsons Jacob and Andrew Landgraf; a niece Sandra Goldsworthy and two faithful companions Mimi and Lulu. Other family and friends further survive.
Along with his Fiancé Chris and parents, Gene was preceded in death by a sister Sojan Lindich and a brother-in-law Carl Lindich.
Following Gene's wishes no services will be held at this time.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Gene's name.
The family would like to personally thank the many friends and family who have helped Gene on The Dittrich Mink Farm throughout the years.
