Gertrude Bauer

Gertrude H. Bauer, age 96 passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2015. She was born on August 25, 1918 in South Dakota to parents Rev. Hermann and Marta Ollech. Gertrude was united in marriage on March 19, 1935 to Benjamin Bauer. She worked for 20 years at Blue Cross, Blue Shield of Milwaukee in the accounting department. Gertrude was a long time member of the Lillian United Methodist Church in Lillian, AL. There she participated in many musical groups and choirs. She also volunteered with Ecumenical Ministries, Inc. in Foley, AL. Her and Ben enjoyed bowling, golfing and card playing. Upon moving back to Wisconsin, Gertrude was a member at Peace United Methodist Church in Kaukauna, WI. Gertrude is survived by one daughter, Elfriede (Roy) Gruenewald, of West Bend, WI; two grandchildren, Darcy (Glenn) Mueller and Mark (Audra) Gruenewald; five great-grandchildren, Camron Cook, Dawn (Bryan) Grohskopf, Tamara Mueller, Davine and Danielle Gruenewald; one sister, Elfriede Wandsnider. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Benjamin; two grandchildren, Teri Cook and infant Susan Gruenewald; one brother and two sisters. Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 14 at Zimmer Westview Funeral and Cremation Care Center, W2132 Garton Road, (Hwy 42 & JJ, Howards Grove) from 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM. Funeral Service at 1:30 PM. Rev. Ric Olson presiding. In lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation - Wisconsin Chapter or the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
