Gladys Zunker

Gladys W. Zunker, age 90 surrounded by her daughters, went home to the Lord Christmas Eve morning Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at Pine Haven Christian Home. She was born July 13, 1924 in Sheboygan to parents Walter and Meta (Schmidt) Erbe. Gladys graduated Howards Grove High School in 1942. Gladys was united in marriage in Waukegan, IL on March 20, 1943 to Edward G. Zunker. In life, Gladys enjoyed traveling especially the annual fishing trips to Minocqua at Shirley and Dan's. Her and Edward enjoyed listening to polka music. Gladys was a Sunday School Teacher at St. Luke's for many years. Her Sunday weekly worship was followed by dining and enjoying time at Darlene and Jim's house. Gladys was an avid Packer fan. She always looked forward to holidays, family gatherings and over the last eight years her daughters daily visits. Gladys treasured her time playing bingo and going shopping with Donna. Dennis and Marcia were able to spend quality time with Gladys and family last February. Gladys is survived by three daughters, Donna (Deryl) Aschenbach of Sheboygan, Shirley (Daniel) Diels of Minocqua, Darlene (Jim) Gruenke of Sheboygan Falls, one son, Dennis (Marcia) Zunker of Arlington, TX; grandchildren, Kevin (Debbie) Aschenbach, Wendy (Jeff) Limberg, Travis (Wendy) Gensch, Jeremy (Charissa) Gruenke and Lindsay (Chad) Feehan; great-grandchildren, Nicole, Megan and Nolan Limberg, Addison Gensch, Alexander and Ella Feehan, Jacob, Natalie and Ava Gruenke. Two sisters, Audrey Widder and Esther (Jim) Machtig. Also loved by other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband Edward in 2007. A time of visitation and support for the family on Tuesday, December 30 from 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, N6193 Hwy 32, Sheboygan Falls. Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 AM. Private entombment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Memorials are appreciated to the Church building fund or Heartland Hospice.
