Gordon Preder

Gordon L. Preder, 97, of Sheboygan, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2013 at Sheboygan Progressive Care Center. Gordon was born May 7, 1916 to the late Garret and Jennie Preder. On May 28, 1937 he married the former Edna Silvis. Gordon served his country in the United States Army in 1945. On Dec. 26, 1962, he married the former Rhoda Matzdorf. They both preceded him in death. He retired from Consin Components. Gordon was an avid Packer fan and enjoyed playing cards with friends and family. Survivors include four children, Kenneth (June) Preder, Sheboygan Falls, James (Sandra) Preder, Plymouth, Jane Ten Haken, Oostburg and Barbara Scott, Rockport, TX; three step-children, Gil (Lori) Matzdorf, Oostburg, Donald Matzdorf, Sheboygan and Shirley Matzdorf, Sheboygan; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers, Rollen Preder, Oostburg, Frederick (Ellen) Preder, Oostburg; two sisters, Betty (Ardell) Sebald, Sheboygan Falls, Marjorie Kempink, Cedar Grove; two sisters-in-law, Josephine Preder, Random Lake and Grace Preder, Plymouth; special friend, Mary Theresa Ibarra. In addition to his parents and spouses, he was preceded in death by one son, Raymond (Martha) Preder; two grandchildren, Klant and Dawn Preder; four brothers, Gerald, Rolland, Lloyd and Warren Preder; one sister, Margeret Oechmechin; one son-in-law, Leslie Ten Haken; one step-son, Roland Matzdorf; two stepdaugthers-in-law, Jean and Joanne Matzdorf; A funeral service for Gordon will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. at Zimmer's Westview Funeral and Cremation Care Center (Hwy 42 & JJ, Howards Grove) with the Rev. DuWayne Hanke officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday, at the funeral home, from 3:00 p.m. until the time of services.
