Harlan Whitaker

Harlan David Whitaker of Sheboygan Wisconsin, formally North Bangor New York passed away September 29th, 2015. Born on September 18, 1939 in Bellaire Ohio, he was the son of Harvey Dale Whitaker and Jeanette Hedlund Whitaker. He graduated from McKinley High School in Boone Iowa and received an Associates Degree in business from L.A. Community College in 1965. He was married June 24th 1967 in Hollywood, California to Patsy Hall Whitaker for 47 years. She survives him. Harlan was employed by Alberto Culver for seven years. He then worked for Blue Cross of Southern California teaching medical terminology and claims adjusting and as a customer supervisor for 17 years. He and his family moved to North Bangor New York in 1981 where they bought a small farm, opening a boarding kennel for small animals, which he ran for 18 years. He was employed by Bailey Motor Company for 10 years. He was also employed in Family Care since 1991 providing a home for and taking care of Edward Fisher who called himself "The Whitaker". He was a member of the First Evangelical Church in Boone Iowa and First Congregational Church of Malone. He was a 4-H leader for a number of years and was on the board of directors of Camp Overlook for four years. He served as a trustee for First Congregational Church of Malone for two years. He was predeceased by his parents and sister Donna Jean Whitaker Turnquist, as well as aunts and uncles. He is survived by his wife, Patsy of 47 years, his children, Kim Michele Whitaker of Sheboygan Wisconsin and Jeffery David Whitaker of Sheboygan Wisconsin and friend Edward Fisher who lived with the Whitakers since 1991. The family is having a private ceremony.
