Harold George

Harold C.F. George, 80, of Sheboygan, passed away on October 26, 2016 at Pine Haven Christian Home in Sheboygan Falls. He was born August 7, 1936 in Milwaukee, the son of Joseph and Helen (Krause) George. Harold graduated from Central High School in Sheboygan. He went on to proudly serve in the National Guard. On November 26, 1976 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Schnettler Manser at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Sheboygan.
For many years Harold worked as a Salesman for his father's business Joe George Automotive Parts.
Having a strong faith he was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Sheboygan. His love for speed and adventure, were apparent in the years he spent as an official for the United States Auto Club and SCCA racing. He also enjoyed his time with family and friends, traveling, golfing, skiing, and playing cards. He was an avid Packer fan and also an active member of the Elks, Lions, and Kiwanis Clubs.
Dorothy and Harold's love of golf took them to Hot Springs Village, AR in 1993, where they resided for 21 years. Harold was a golf course Marshall and involved in many golf club activities, before moving back to Sheboygan.
Harold is survived by his wife of 40 years Dorothy, his daughters, Tammie George of Chilton and Theresa "Terrie" Meyer of Sheboygan Falls, by his step-children; Richard (Sarah) Manser of Edina, MN, Lori (Gary) Lacy of Sheboygan, Lynn Shovan of Elkhart Lake, Juli Manser of Deer Park, and David (Stephanie) Manser of Newport Beach, CA., by grandchildren, Eric Cobian and Kelsie Meyer, and step-grandchildren; Bryan (Missy), Steven, and Jenna Lacy, Jake and Sydney Shovan, Sabin and Galen Coy, Joseph, Hannah, Molly, and Lilah Manser, and his sister Doris Petermann. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Harold was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Lloyd Petermann.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, November 4, 2016 at 3:00 PM at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 2133 N. 22nd St. Sheboygan, with Rev. Philip Reifenberg officiating. Inurnment will take place at Calvary Cemetery at a later date. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Friday, November 4, 2016 from 2:00 PM until the time of service at the CHURCH.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Harold's name.
