Harriet Weele

Harriet G. (Buteyn) Vander Weele, age 90, of Sheboygan, died Thursday afternoon, May 14, 2015. She was born August 1, 1924 in Sheboygan to Peter and Bertha (Ver Velde) Buteyn. She attended Sheboygan Christian School and was a graduate of Sheboygan North High School, Class of 1942. On May 27, 1950 Harriet and Clarence Vander Weele were united in marriage at First Christian Reformed Church in Sheboygan. After nearly sixty-three years of marriage Clarence preceded her in death on April 18, 2013. Harriet was a faithful and active member of First Christian Reformed Church, now Christ Community Church, where she was a member of the Eunice Bible Society and participated in the Friendship Club and the Golden Agers Club. She was employed in the office of Vollrath Co. and later at Paper Box and Specialty until her retirement in 1988. She is survived by three sons, Ken and Linda of Chicago, IL, and their four children, Tyler and Lisa of Cambridge, MA, Myles and Jennifer, and great granddaughter Ella Mae of San Francisco, CA, Morgan and Hilary, both of Chicago, IL; Ron and Julie of Chicago, IL and their two children, Emily of Washington DC, and Will of Chicago, IL; Rick of Midland, MI and his three children, Eric and Allie of San Francisco, CA, Meagan of Chicago, IL, and Caitlin of Cambridge, MA. In addition to her husband, Harriet was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Wondergem. A memorial service in celebration of Harriet's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 12, 2015 at Christ Community Church (formerly First Christian Reformed Church) 428 Geele Ave., Sheboygan, WI. Rev. Larry Meyer, Pastor, will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established in her name for Sheboygan Christian School.
