Harvey Lloyd Wendorf, age 76, passed away peacefully, Monday, December 23, 2013 at Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center after a short illness. He was born November 6, 1937 in Wausau to parents Gilbert and Delia Wendorf. Harvey graduated from Wausau High School in 1956, and served in the US Army with an honorable medical discharge. After completing Farrier School, Harvey married Vivian (Clarich) on January 3, 1970. Harvey retired from the Generator Division of Kohler Company after 33 years, at which time he became an accomplished woodcarver and woodturner. He was a member of the Kettle Carvers Woodcarving Club of Sheboygan County, and the North East Wisconsin Woodturners Club of Neenah, Wisconsin. Harvey enjoyed reading, fishing with his son, Wade, rooting for the Packers, and supporting his wife, Vivian, in her quilting and beading endeavors. He also enjoyed spending time at pow-wow's and other Native American events at Oneida and the Wisconsin Dells. He enjoyed many cultures and had special friendships with the Amish of the St. Anna, New Holstein and Reedsville areas. He was active in the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts in both Kiel and St. Nazianz for over 8 years as cub master and scout master, as well as spending time with his horses and hobby farming. Survived by his wife, Vivian and son, Wade (Diana) Wendorf of Oak Grove, Minnesota sister Charlotte Opper of Merrill, Wisconsin, and brother Harland (Dee) Wendorf of Irvin, Texas, and brother-in-law Frank (Marilyn) Clarich of Sheboygan. Preceded in death by his parents, and an infant daughter, Rheannz, sisters Joyce Lang, Bertie Lou Beck, Elaine Steinke, and brothers Dale Wendorf (Evelyn) of Hartford, Wisconsin, Gilbert Wendorf (Peach) of Union Grove, Wisconsin, Marvin (Leetta) Wendorf of Green Bay, Wisconsin, and Lawrence Wendorf. Also loved and cared for by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Special mention goes to his faithful four legged buddies, Scruffy and Shadow. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 27 at 12 Noon, at Zimmer Westview Funeral and Cremation Care Center W2132 Garton Rd., (Hwy 42 & JJ, Howards Grove) with Pastor Azor Cigelske presiding. Visitation from 10:00 AM until time of service. Burial to follow at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church Cemetery. A special thanks to the staff at Sheboygan Memorial and Dr. Pleviak of New Holstein for their care, concern and quick thinking.
