Hazel Roesselet

October 13, 1921 — August 15, 2014

Hazel Roesselet, age 92, of Plymouth, formerly of Pewaukee, went home to be with her Lord on Friday morning, August 15, 2014 at Rocky Knoll Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born October 13, 1921 in Milwaukee to Kurt and Edna (Luebke) Kaiser and was a graduate of Rufus King High School, Class of 1939. Hazel was employed at Northwestern Mutual Insurance Co. On May 10, 1944 Hazel saved a little girl from drowning in the Milwaukee River and was subsequently awarded the Carnegie Hero Medal. On September 17, 1949 Hazel and Harold Roesselet were united in marriage. He preceded her in death on February 6, 2008. Hazel was a former member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hartland, WI and currently a member of Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. She is survived by her nephew, Werner (Kathleen) Roesselet of Plymouth, WI; her niece, Barbara (Roy) Heinrich of Plymouth, MN; cousins, Barbara (Larry) Kasper of Thiensville, WI and Ruth (Richard) Wrubbel of Hartford, WI; and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2132 N. 27th St, Sheboygan WI, 53081. Rev. Timothy Kuske, Pastor, will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place at Southern Wisconsin Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, WI. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church would be appreciated. Hazel's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the caregivers at Rocky Knoll Health and Rehabilitation Center for the care and compassion shown to her.
