Helen Pruitt

Helen M. Pruitt, of Sheboygan, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls. She was 82 years old.
Helen was born February 25, 1935 in Sheboygan, the daughter of John and Dena (nee Vreeke) Boone. She attended Sheboygan Christian School, and graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1953. Helen and Orville R. Pruitt met while he was stationed at Camp Haven and were united in marriage November 6, 1953 at First Christian Reformed Church in Sheboygan. They celebrated 63 years of marriage.
Helen worked for many years as a chairside assistant for local dentists Dr. DJ Roblee and Dr. William Koppelkam. She retired in 2013 after 17 years at Wilson Mutual Insurance Company.
Helen was a lifelong member of Christ Community Church, formerly First Christian Reformed Church. She sang in the radio choir and attended Ruth Mission Society for many years. She also worked for the Women's Auxiliary for the Sheboygan Christian School.
She enjoyed the outdoors, reading, camping and spending time by the water and beach, especially Kohler Andrae State Park.
Helen is survived by her children: William (friend Anne) of Oostburg, Richard (Denise) of Green Bay and Patricia Jeltema of Spring Lake, MI. She is further survived by two granddaughters: Amber (Isaac) Schanno and Lauren (Alex) Hastings, great-grandchildren Arianna and Oliver, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband Orville, her parents, daughter-in-law Sheri Pruitt and her brother LeeRoy.
A Memorial Service will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Christ Community Church, 428 Geele Ave. in Sheboygan. Pastor Pat Hennen will officiate. The family will receive visitors at the church on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until 12 noon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Christ Community Church.
