Henrietta V. Kollmeyer, age 98, of Sheboygan, died Thursday morning, December 24, 2015 at Pine Haven Christian Home in Sheboygan Falls, WI.
She was born January 4, 1917 in New York, NY to John H. and Henrietta M. (Glenn) Trester. At the age of fourteen her family relocated to the Sheboygan area where family was located. Henrietta was a graduate of Sheboygan High School, Class of 1934 and then attended Sheboygan Business College.
On June 21, 1938 Henrietta and Fred H. Kollmeyer were united in marriage at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. Fred preceded her in death in May of 1996.
Henrietta was a passionate person who had a zest and zeal for life. Her adventurous spirit was captivating and her storytelling of her life inspired others. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending as much time with them as possible. She loved to laugh and her gift of humor lightened up any gathering.
Henrietta was a volunteer and past president of St. Nicholas Hospital Auxiliary.
Over the years she enjoyed bowling, fishing trips, and taking nature walks.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary (Jim) Burkard of Sheboygan; her daughter-in-law, Marlene Kollmeyer of Germantown; her sister-in-law, Betty (Henry) Logas of Sheboygan; grandchildren, Jill (Greg) Huffer of Milwaukee, Jeff (Nobuko) Kollmeyer of Milwaukee, David Burkard of Plymouth, Lisa Kollmeyer of Sun Prairie, WI, and Jay Burkard of Sheboygan; great-grandchildren, Calvin Huffer, Casey Huffer, Brett Burkard, Alexander Kollmeyer, and Emma Kollmeyer; and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Jim Kollmeyer.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels. Rev. Ginny Stuve of Unity Christian Church will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held at Ballhorn Chapels from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established in her name for St. Nicolas Hospital Auxiliary.
Henriettas family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the excellent staff at Prairie Crossing and Covenant Home as well as the staff of Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for their tender, loving care.
