Irene Gatawakas

Irene E. Gatawakas, 92, of Sheboygan, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2015, at St. Nicholas Hospital. Irene was born on February 1, 1923 in Sheboygan to the late Arthur and Adelia (Lieding) Scholz. Irene spent her early life and received her education in Sheboygan. On February 10, 1945 she was united in marriage to Victor J. Gatawakas. Victor preceded her in death on June 2, 1998. Irene was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sheboygan. She enjoyed gardening and shopping. Irene is survived by her sons; Victor A. (Maureen)Gatawakas , and Steven Gatawakas both of Sheboygan. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a brother William Scholz. A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Ballhorn Chapels 1201 N. 8th St. Sheboygan.
