James C. Roth, age 86, of Sheboygan passed away peacefully on Monday, January 16, 2023, at Countryside Manor where he had been a resident.
He was born in Sheboygan on November 22, 1936, to the late Robert and Lydia (Heronimus) Roth. He graduated from Central High School. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1955 until 1959, serving on board ships stationed in San Diego. On January 11, 1957, Jim was united in marriage to Marianna (Kraemer) Hartman and together they had five children. Jim was employed at Vollrath Company for many years as an electrician, retiring as a supervisor.
Jim was an avid golfer, traveling with friends to explore new courses. He also enjoyed gardening and fishing. Watching his grandchildren grow and attending their sporting events was something he loved to do. In his later years he enjoyed spending time with his sister, playing cards and watching movies.
Jim is survived by his children, Roxann (Thomas) Sohr, Robin (Eric) Kruschke, Randy (Cathy) Roth, Rebecca (Rocquie) Stentz, and Rachel (Keith) Clark; grandchildren, Christopher, Benjamin, Meghan, Alex (Crystal), Adam (Evan), Chad, Zach (Cassie), Tyler (Lauren), Mason, Jordan (Carly) and Haley; great-grandchildren, Grace, Charlie, Thomas, Parker, Ellie, Ashley, Cameron, Layla, Riley and Charlotte; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Along with his parents, Jim was preceded in death by great-grandsons, Thomas and Shane; siblings, Robert (Mary) Roth, William Roth and Ruth Schueffner.
A Memorial Service for James will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 23, 2023, at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 1019 N 7th St., in Sheboygan with Pastor Tyler Werner officiating. Family will greet visitors on Monday at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Jim’s name.
The family would like to thank the staff at both Countryside Manor and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for their loving care given to Jim.
