Janet E. Fischer, age 67, of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 6, 2014. Janet was born July 20, 1946, in Sheboygan to the late Aubrey & Margaret (Paasch) Reichert. Janet graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School in 1964. On April 27, 1968, she married Donald R. Fischer at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls. After marriage, Janet and Donald built a house in the town of Herman. She loved the move from the city to her country life where she could feed the birds and watch the wildlife, while raising her children. Her Lord was a very strong part of her life and the things she enjoyed doing. Janet was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Kohler, where she taught Sunday school, attended bible classes and was an active member of LWML. She was fond of making cards and many different computer items for all of the volunteer organizations and benefits that she got involved with. Through all of her sickness, Janet never gave up hope in her Lord. Janet loved to travel and went on many trips with her husband. They took in the sights of as many waterfalls and National parks as they could. Janet had many hobbies over the years from oil painting, to quilting and most recently knitting hats for newborn babies. However, her biggest pastime was working in her yard, tending to her gardens, adding many new flowerbeds, and moving plants around until it was just perfect. Janet truly cherished her children and always enjoyed time spent with them, from cookouts to camping and traveling. Janet also loved her furry family! Her cats Violet and Sassy, now gone, never wanted for anything in their lives, and her new cat Bailey was spoiled up to the last minute. Janet is survived by her husband, Don, Sheboygan; her two children: Amy (Jeff Smith) Fischer, Grafton, WI; and Todd (fiancée Victoria Sherwan), Sheboygan, WI and her brother Jack (Lois) Reichert, Montello, WI. She is further survived by her in-laws, Howard & Betty Fischer, Wisconsin Rapids, WI, 3 brother-in-laws, Gary (fiancée Pat), Bob (Cathi), Jim (Joann), and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister-in-law Lynnette Fischer. Services will be held for Janet at Bethany Lutheran Church (222 Church Street, Kohler, WI 53044), Monday, January 13th, 2014. Visitation 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM, with funeral service at 12 Noon with Pastor Robert Steele presiding. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Bethany Lutheran Church in Kohler are appreciated.
