Janice H. Reinthaler

September 22, 1938 — March 14, 2025

Sheboygan

Janice H. Reinthaler, age 86, of Sheboygan was welcomed into our Lord’s heavenly kingdom peacefully after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s. Her devoted husband Bob of 65 years cared for Janice in their home and his kindness and humor was what Janice always felt kept them so strongly connected. His devoted care was exactly as he promised.

Janice was born in Sheboygan on September 22, 1938. She loved to tell the story of first meeting her husband Bob in the St. Nicholas Hospital Nursery, born just days later. She attended Sheboygan Schools and graduated from Central High School.

Janice’s world was her family. When we walked into her home, every visit felt like a celebration. Her love and enthusiasm was contagious. Christmas was especially important to her for bringing family together and she made sure it was special with preparations for a weekend of traditional dinners and festivities.

Janice loved the Spring when she could start moving plants and planning for new perennials in her beautiful backyard garden. She was a competitive bowler and was inducted into the Sheboygan Hall of Fame. Her competitiveness also came out in her love of board games, especially cribbage. We could always expect some good-natured heckling, a trait all her children inherited.

A private family gathering will be held when Janice’s flowers are blooming in the Spring.

Janice is survived by her husband Robert A. Reinthaler; Daughter Lisa (Dan) Casper of Florida; Son Bob (Annie) Reinthaler of Sheboygan; Daughter Vickie (Karl) Christofferson of Grafton and Son John (Julie) Reinthaler of Rhinelander. She is also survived by her grandchildren Aaron (Amanda) Casper; Mark (Michelle) Casper; Derek (Nicole) Hendrikse; Dustin (Katija) Hendrikse; Andrew, Brooke, Erik and Max Reinthaler; Caryn (Ian) Miller; Mitchell (Mariah) Reinthaler; Brandon (Sabrina) Reinthaler; Mathew Reinthaler (fiancé Zoe) along with 8 great grandchildren. She is further survived by her brother Keith (Donna) Kablitz and brother-in-law Tom (Helen) Reinthaler.

She was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and Emma Kablitz.

A special thank you to her long-time friend Sue Dennis and the staff at The Sharon Richardson Hospice.

Memorials can be made to Bookworm Gardens and The Sharon Richardson Hospice.
